0.2 is out! New unit, new level, main menu, and many small changes!

The long-awaited (by me) update is finally out!

Major changes:

-New unit: the machine gun nest. It can destroy enemy units extremely quickly but costs a fortune, can't move, and is destroyed very quickly itself

-New level, designed around the new unit

-Level select screen. Watch randomly spawning units fight while you ponder the difficult choice of which one of the two levels to play

Minor improvements:

-Riflemen can now retreat

-Rifleman range increased (to counter the new machine gun nest unit)

-Friendly units that retreat past the player's base are now refunded

-Enemy units that retreat past the enemy base now counterattack

Bug fixes:

-Current manpower is no longer displayed as the current money at the start of level

-The frontline now has a limit to how far back it can go, which prevents a bug with the camera going behind the player's base

-Camera can no longer go past enemy base

-Units now stop after reaching the enemy base

Enjoy!

Now, why did this update take a week longer than expected, you may ask?

Several reasons. First of all, as i said in a previous post, there was some unexpected wacky stuff going on with lists in my code, which i had to fix, but did i not say in that post that the update would be out on monday or tuesday? I did in fact say that. The problem was that, to put it lightly, i realized that the ai system in this game is utter and complete dogshit. It is fully scripted, which means that i have to manually set the units' behavior in any given situation, it does not work with the frontline system, which means that enemy riflemen constantly block shield units, and it cannot react to changes in the battlefield. NONE OF THIS IS FIXED. I understood that if i tried to actually fix all of this, the update wouldn't have come out for a few months. Instead, i attempted to make a decently fun level with the tools i have cursed myself with. My top priority now is to make the ai not suck, which means that i am abandoning the "one update per week" commitment (it never worked anyways) and focusing on the ai. I will probably release new levels and units anyways, but it will be quite slow.

Bye, try to have fun!
